· "Tire Industry Sustainability" Seminar was held in Chengdu

On November 12th, as one of the important activities of the 12th "Michelin Bibidan Challenge", the "Tire Industry Sustainability" seminar was held in Chengdu. Representatives from SAIC, Michelin, Jiangsu Shengao and other industries covering the industrial chain, as well as representatives from China Rubber Industry Association and ACNielsen, gathered from the development environment, market demand, industry challenges, practical operations and future visions. , sharing their views and experiences to discuss the sustainable development of the tire industry.

The meeting was jointly organized by Sinochem International (Holdings) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinochem International") and its Singapore GMGGLOBAL (hereinafter referred to as GMG) and Jiangsu Shengao Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jiangsu Shengao"). It aims to promote the sustainable development of road traffic by leveraging the broad platform of the Bibendum Challenge, rallying all parties' consensus, digging for multiple wisdoms, and contemplating international initiatives for future transportation.

Mr. Yao Xingliang, GMGCEO said in his speech: "As the number of cars and tires increases, a series of problems including environmental pollution, traffic congestion, road casualties and so on are gradually emerging, and energy consumption is becoming more and more serious. It is imperative to solve related problems. We have Responsibility contributes to the sustainable development of road transport in China and the world, providing road mobility solutions that are more respectful of the environment, cleaner and safer."

Ms. Deng Yazhen, President of China Rubber Industry Association, analyzed the challenges and prospects of sustainable development of the tire industry from a macro perspective. She pointed out that the current Chinese rubber industry is in the period of shifting down, and the problems of overcapacity and unreasonable structure are becoming increasingly prominent. Relevant enterprises and the entire industry can only achieve innovation-driven, transformation and upgrading by taking the energy-saving and environmental protection route. The association has initiated research on the green tire labeling system in 2012, and China's green tire technical specification guidelines are also being prepared.

Ms. Yu Jie, deputy director of the Nielsen Automotive Group, a world-renowned market research company, explains how the tire industry can maintain sustainable development from the perspective of consumer buying trends. She said that although people are positive about the role of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly models, Nielsen's survey shows that only 22% of consumers are willing to pay more for this. What auto companies need is to find out the benefits that can attract consumers. Point out new products that consumers can afford. At the same time, give consumers enough confidence and encourage early buyers.

Mr. Li Bin, chief engineer of the plug-in hybrid car project of SAIC Passenger Car Company, shared the specific requirements of sustainable transportation for tires from the perspective of vehicle manufacturers. In his view, tires are an important part of energy saving and emission reduction. The rolling resistance accounts for about 20% of the vehicle's energy consumption. The low-resistance tires can reduce the vehicle energy consumption by 2%. All the enterprises in the industry chain should work together. In parallel, we are committed to the development of “green tires” with lighter weight, lower resistance, less noise and safer performance.

Mr. Bai Hua, head of the Michelin China R&D Center, said that the increase in car ownership is bringing severe challenges to the global environment and new requirements for industrial development. He introduced Michelin's response strategies and the latest technologies for the sustainable development of the tire industry, including 4R strategies – reduction, reuse, recycling, and renewable.

Mr. Chen Xinmin, Vice President of R&D of Jiangsu Shengao, combined with the technical development direction of green tires, analyzed the challenges and future trends of the rubber industry from the perspective of upstream raw materials, and proposed specific solutions for sustainable development of the tire industry, from new materials and innovations. Four aspects of fillers, low-carbon processing and green additives are expected to be developed in the future. Chen Xinmin also innovatively proposed that in the tire recycling economy, GM vegetable oil can be directly used as an auxiliary agent or as a raw material to develop rubber chemicals to achieve green auxiliaries and low-carbon processing modes.

“This is a multi-angle, deep-level, high-value seminar based on the tire industry, involving upstream and downstream, the whole industry chain. The opinions, suggestions, practices and experiences explained by the speakers for the sustainable development of the tire industry in the future. It has a very high guiding significance.” Mr. Zhang Zengen, General Manager of Sinochem International, pointed out in his concluding remarks: “As an upstream supplier of tire raw materials, Sinochem International and its subsidiaries GMG and Jiangsu Shengao are willing to work with all tire manufacturers. Make unremitting efforts and deepen cooperation to contribute to the road mobility of sustainable development."

The Michelin Bibendum Challenge is an innovative “thought and action” think tank that aims to achieve clean, safe, convenient, connected and economical transportation. It has been held for 12 consecutive years. With the theme of “Promoting road traffic innovation with the core of promoting economic growth and optimizing urban quality of life”, users of this year's transportation industry, suppliers and decision makers gathered here to find sustainable transportation. s solution.

Cooling tower spray nozzles are designed for optimum coverage of either the fill or coil surface. Optimum coverage increases thermal efficiency while fully wetting the surface. This in turn prevents scale build-up that will lessen the unit capacity. There are several designs for pressurized and gravity-feed systems, each fully optimized for the application. Regardless of design, nozzles are easily removed, either to accommodate new flow rates or to replace broken nozzles. To facilitate cleaning or replacement; counterflow nozzles are installed using grommets which also allows the nozzles to be properly positioned. Kits are available, complete with insert grommets for pressurized systems or installation tools for gravity systems.
