·China Automotive Research: The safety standard for electric vehicles is completed within two years

The relevant person in charge of China Automotive Research Institute said that China Automotive Research and Research is currently developing a separate collision standard for electric vehicles, and first conducted a standard study on the standard of collision. On this basis, the related research on side impact and back touch is improved, and the safety standards for electric vehicles are expected to be completed within 2 years.

Zhou Rong, chief engineer of the Automotive Standardization Research Institute of China Automotive Technology and Research Center, who participated in the standard setting, said that China is the first country in the world to set the standard for frontal collision of electric vehicles. Electric vehicles have the potential danger of high-energy power batteries, the potential hazards of voltage and high-current circuits to occupants and the dangerous situation when vehicles collide. However, the specific provisions of domestic electric vehicle safety standards are too simple, macroscopic, and operability is poor. And only limited to the requirements of frontal collisions.

It is understood that the country is doing a separate standard work on electric vehicle collisions, and has completed the national standard project and completed the collision test on dozens of electric vehicles. Zhou Rong said that the crash test will provide more data support for the safety standards of electric vehicles. At present, the safety standards for electric vehicles are being revised, especially for battery technology. China's electric vehicle frontal collision standards are aimed at pure electric vehicles, and hybrid vehicles are still applicable to the frontal collision standards of traditional vehicles. After the completion of the frontal collision standard, China will also develop the side and rear collision standards for electric vehicles.

Zhou Rong stressed that some statements about the lack of electric vehicle standards in China or just copying foreign standards are not in line with the actual situation. Up to now, China has formulated more than 40 standards related to electric vehicles, ranking the first in the world, and more than 20 of them are the first in China. In addition, more than 40 relevant standards have been incorporated into the development or research program. More than 300 electric vehicles have entered the announcement of China's automobile products, and the number is also the highest in the world.
