WISeKey and SAP work together to provide IoT edge security

WISeKey, the Swiss-based cybersecurity company (SWISS: WIHN), today announced plans to work with SAP, the world's largest supplier of enterprise applications, to secure IoT devices. The purpose of this partnership is to combine WISeKey's Managed Cryptographic Root of Trust secure IoT edge devices with devices using the SAP HANA Internet of Things cloud platform.

This will increase the security of IoT devices when they interconnect with SAP IoT solutions. Even connecting everything with sensors does not necessarily create commercial opportunities or bring value to customers. Companies and consumers can demonstrate their value and commercialize by ensuring that they receive validated and secured sensor data, obtain information from them, and recommend appropriate actions as needed.

Carlos Moreira, CEO of WISeKey, said: "This new partnership shows that WISeKey has a comprehensive and expanding portfolio of IoT products and services, as our current focus is primarily on partnerships with well-known companies serving corporate customers such as SAP) to increase market penetration and increase sales volume and we are pleased to be working with SAP to make informed decisions safe and secure. "

Gil Perez, senior vice president and general manager of IoT security for SAP SE Digital Asset and Internet of Things, said: "Securing data communications between edge devices and the SAP HANA logistics network cloud platform and SAP IoT solution is a two-way Prerequisites for Use. Working with WISeKey, we continue to provide our customers with more options for data availability and scalability in terms of sensor data that powers SAP IoT platforms and solutions. "

WISeKey is currently deploying a large-scale IoT digital identity system for watches and wearable devices that employ its managed crypto root and NFCTrusted technology. This trusted technology combines wearable device and security authentication and identity identification in both physical and virtual environments, enabling IoT and wearable devices to be used as secure transaction devices. It is estimated that the global wearable device market will have 35% annual growth in the next 5 years.

Managed WISeKey Root of Trust (RoT) has the role of a common trust anchor that is recognized by the operating system (OS) and applications to ensure the authenticity, confidentiality, and integrity of online transactions. Embedding an encrypted root of trust in your device enables IoT product manufacturers to use code signing certificates and cloud signing services to securely communicate between objects and between objects and people.
