    白云母  KAl2[AlSi3O10](OH,F)2

[化学组成]  K2O  11.8%,  Al2O3  38.5%,  SiO2  45.2%,有时含少量Na、Fe、Cr、V、等。含Cr高的称铬云母，其含Cr2O3的含量可达4.8%。

[形态]  单斜晶系。晶体呈假六方形的板状和柱状，双晶常见，集合体呈片状或鳞片状。成极细小的鳞片状集合体者，称绢云母。

[物理性质]  无色透明，因含少量杂质而常呈浅绿、浅黄等色，含Cr时呈鲜绿色称铬云母。玻璃光泽，解理面呈珍珠光泽。硬度2－3。解理平行{001}极完全，薄片具弹性。比重2.76－3.10。绝缘性极好。

[成因及产状]  白云母也是分布很广的一种云母，产于花岗岩、花岗伟晶岩和花岗闪长岩中。在化岗伟晶岩中可形成巨大的白云母晶体，具有很大的工业价值。在变质岩中白云母亦有广泛分布，如千枚岩、片岩和片麻岩中。

此外，在低温热液作用下，正长石可分解形成白云母（或绢云母）。反应式如下：

6K[AlSi3O8]＋4H2O＋CO2＋3Al2O3→4KAl2[AlSi3O10](OH)2＋K2CO3＋6SiO2

在高温热液蚀变的云英岩中，白云母也是主要造岩矿物。在表生作用下，白云母化学性质稳定，故出现在漂沙及碎屑岩中。

[鉴定特征]主要根据颜色与其它云母区别。
