On April 27, according to Korean media reports, according to a survey report released by an authoritative organization in Korea, Korean manufacturing companies believe that their technical capabilities are currently 91.4% of their Japanese counterparts.
The results of the survey were based on a survey of 300 manufacturing companies in Korea. The survey shows that if the technical capabilities of Japanese companies are regarded as 100, domestic manufacturers will evaluate their technical capabilities as 91.4.
From the perspective of various industries, the self-evaluation of technical capabilities in industries such as shipbuilding (95.5) and petrochemical (93.8) exceeded 90, almost the same as those in Japan. The self-evaluation of industries such as automobile (88.6) and machinery (89.7) is relatively low, indicating that the technology gap between these industries and their Japanese counterparts is somewhat large.
58.9% of the respondents said that they are technically at the same level as their Japanese counterparts or higher than their Japanese counterparts. And 41.1% of the respondents said that the technical level is still at a disadvantage compared with their Japanese counterparts.
Korean companies believe that the technology gap is narrowing with their Japanese counterparts due to the low cost, low R&D costs, and the introduction of advanced technologies.
