The Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ jet will not wait until March 31, 2008 to decide whether it will be officially launched. The regional jet (MRJ) is scheduled to enter the market in 2012 and intends to secure 1,000 orders from the 5,000 demand market in the next 20 years.

Todd Kallman, president of Pratt & Whitney's civilian engine, said that the GTF beat General Electric's CF34-10 modified and Luo Luo's RB282 modified engine, which reduced fuel consumption by 12% and noise by 50%. In the 1980s, a research group established by some Japanese companies studied the 150-class YXX passenger aircraft. In the 1990s, it changed to a smaller YSX passenger aircraft.
