The vehicle retirement period refers to a security inspection system stipulated during the period of use of a car according to the number of seats and the period of use of the car. The regulations state that small and micro non-operating passenger cars, large non-operating cars, and wheeled special-purpose mechanical vehicles have no limit on their useful lives.
Special vehicles and cranes are special operation vehicles, and their scrapping period is 30 years.
According to Article 5 of the 2013 Regulations on the Mandatory Standards for the Mandatory Disposal of Motor Vehicles, the service life of various types of motor vehicles is as follows:
(1) 8 years for small and micro taxis, 10 years for medium-sized taxis, and 12 years for large-scale taxis;
(2) Leasing passenger cars for 15 years;
(3) 10 years for small coaches, 12 years for medium coaches, 15 years for large coaches;
(4) 13 years of use of public transport passenger cars;
(5) 10 years for other small and micro passenger cars, and 15 years for large and medium passenger cars;
(6) 15 years of use of special school buses;
(7) 20 years of use of large and medium-sized non-operating passenger cars (except large cars);
(8) Three-wheeled vehicles, low-speed trucks with single-cylinder engines for 9 years, low-speed trucks with multi-cylinder engines and mini trucks for 12 years, dangerous goods trucks for 10 years, and other trucks (including Semi-trailer and full-trailer) 15 years of use;
(9) The special operation vehicle with cargo loading function is used for 15 years, and the special operation vehicle without cargo loading function is used for 30 years;
(10) Full-trailer and semi-trailer for transporting dangerous goods for 10 years, container semi-trailer for 20 years, and other semi-trailers for 15 years;
(11) Tricycles are used for 12 years and other motorcycles are used for 13 years.
For small and micro-taxi passenger cars (except pure electric vehicles) and motorcycles, the relevant departments of the people's governments of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities may formulate stricter than the above service life in accordance with local conditions, but small and micro-taxi passenger cars must not be lower. In 6 years, three-wheeled motorcycles must not be less than 10 years, and other motorcycles must not be less than 11 years.
Small and micro non-operating passenger cars, large non-operating cars, and wheeled special purpose mechanical vehicles have no service life restrictions.
