The reporter learned from the electric vehicle market and related companies at various places that most of the domestic lead-acid battery manufacturers were forced to stop production after rectification, and the original inventory of various companies was almost exhausted. This directly led to lead-acid battery prices since the advent of the peak season in July after the advent of a sharp rise, short-term gains that reach 8% to 20% range, more than half of the increase of more than 40%.

Phenomenon: The price increase for batteries and electric vehicles has been the sales season for electric vehicles in July. With the arrival of the peak replacement battery for end-use electric vehicles, this time should have been the most competitive moment for lead-acid battery manufacturers. However, the nationwide reorganization that began in May of this year has caused a serious shortage of lead-acid battery capacity. The domestic major brands of batteries have thus entered the collective out of stock or even out of stock.

The phenomenon of battery shortage is even more prominent. The direct consequence is that the price of batteries and electric vehicles will increase.

In the Beijing market, the battery price, which was relatively stable in June, suddenly rose after entering July, involving brands such as Tianneng, Chaowei, Yongda, Shuangdeng, and Puengeng. According to public information, 12Ah retail dealers in Beijing have increased by 40 to 650 yuan per group, and each group has risen to 850 yuan in 20Ah, up by 60 yuan. In Fuzhou, the price of each electric vehicle in the local area was increased by 300-500 yuan compared with the beginning of the year due to the impact of the lead-acid battery industry rectification and the increase in the price of electric vehicle motors and other accessories. Among them, the price increase of lead-acid batteries alone is more than 100 yuan, and usually, a relatively cheap set of lead-acid batteries costs 500 yuan.

It is worth noting that there are some local businesses that classify the same type of electric vehicles into two categories: high-end and general-purpose ones. The former is more expensive, but under normal conditions, the products will be out of stock, and consumers can only buy high-grade products. The electric car, which was forced to bear higher prices, was also regarded as a "disguised price increase."

Some electric vehicle sales points in Shanghai's Pudong New Area, the reporter learned that the current sale of two local brands of electric vehicles prices rose more than 200 yuan more than a few months ago, the reason is the same as "raw material prices."

It is reported that the average price of lead-acid batteries for electric vehicles accounts for one-quarter or even one-third of the total vehicle cost. Battery prices will be directly transmitted to the downstream vehicle. In Nanjing, some electric vehicle vendors began to raise the price of the entire vehicle in mid-June, ranging from two to three hundred, and more than 400 yuan. According to local media reports, some local battery prices have also increased from 500 yuan at the beginning of the year to 700 yuan, up to 40% in half a year.

A distributor of a brand of electric vehicles in Suzhou said that the current price increase is mainly caused by small brand distributors and large brand agents. Their pressure resistance is weak. Large brand distributors maintain sales, and prices rise less. , "But battery prices, car prices have also had to rise. By the end of this month, the price of electric cars will certainly continue to rise."

Reason: imbalance between supply and demand coupled with cost promotion "The current battery market is facing serious shortages, and prices are indeed rising." Yao Lingchun, secretary general of Zhejiang Storage Battery Industry Association, said in an interview with this reporter yesterday, "The rigid demand for lead-acid batteries It is always there, it will not be reduced because of rectification, but in the case where demand remains strong and supply is drastically reduced, price increases are inevitable."

At the same time, he pointed out that in addition to the factors of supply exceeding demand, cost is also a driving factor in price increases. "On the one hand, lead prices have risen sharply in recent months. On the other hand, wages for labor and employment have also increased."

Not only that, he believes that with the progress of remediation, the depreciation of environmental protection equipment invested by enterprises and the cost of operation and maintenance are not small, and these will be shared among battery prices.

"Why foreign lead-acid batteries are two or three times more expensive than domestic ones? The main reason is this." Yao Lingchun said, "In the future, the price of lead-acid batteries will surely increase. This is very natural."

It is worth noting that starting from July 1, two of the world's three major lithium carbonate producers announced significant price increases for lithium carbonate. In the industry's view, the rise in the price of lithium batteries also has a certain demonstration effect on lead-acid batteries.

In Yao Lingchun's view, the lead-acid battery industry will not end soon, but a long-term process. "Only through a rectification, it will not be possible to solve the pollution problems that exist in the entire industry."

However, for some outstanding large companies, the original suspension of production was mainly due to rectification across the board, and as each of the indicators reached the standard, they will also take the lead in returning to work and share the “dividend” of battery price increases.

"At present, there are more than a dozen companies in Zhejiang have resumed work," said Yao Lingchun.

On the contrary, for some small businesses, the only way out after this national reorganization is to shut down, stop, move, and transfer.

The introduction of entry conditions puts the two companies on the same starting line to compete, enabling the big companies to better utilize their production capacity and quality advantages.

An insider of Jiangsu Huafu Energy Co., Ltd., one of the domestic large-scale lead-acid battery manufacturers, also said in an interview that after the rectification began, the company’s battery sales were even more beautiful. “The small factory was shut, The production capacity of large manufacturers such as Wah Fu is difficult to significantly expand at one time, and it is estimated that the supply and demand gap of the battery will continue to expand, and battery prices will inevitably be increased."
