China's primary energy demand will account for 25% of the world's total in 2025

Royal Dutch Shell Group recently released the "Shell Energy Vision 2050" report in Beijing. The report pointed out that China's primary energy demand in 2025 will account for more than 25% of the world; by 2050, China's own primary energy demand will be four times that of the beginning of this century. But even so, China can still find ways to produce and consume energy, reduce dependence on coal, reduce CO2 emissions, and create a more sustainable future.
The theme of "Shell Energy Vision 2050" is "An era of change" and shows two possible development modes of the world energy industry in the next half century: "unordered world" and "ordered world". The report pointed out that in this period, in order to deal with global energy and environmental challenges, the "orderly world" provides a solution that promotes sustainable development more than "unordered world."
The report pointed out that by 2050, China’s primary energy demand will be four times that of the beginning of the century, fossil energy will still account for about 70% of China’s primary energy demand, and coal will still be China’s first choice for energy. Shell believes that China can only reduce its energy consumption and reduce the direct emission of carbon dioxide without affecting its economic growth while trying to implement the transformation of the energy industry.
In the “Shell Energy Vision 2050” outlook, China, which is in an “orderly world,” has a significantly lower degree of dependence on coal than the “unordered world,” and in the “orderly world”, China’s per capita energy Carbon dioxide emissions are also about 15% lower than the "unordered world," which fully demonstrates the importance of early action.
